Competitive Employment Educational Campaign
The Competitive Employment Educational Campaign, “Discovering the Benefits of Competitive Employment” through the Arc of St. Charles worked to dispel fears and reduce barriers to employment for persons with disabilities by sharing information about common misconceptions of employment in the community for people with developmental disabilities. Information from persons with disabilities who work in the community was shared in addition to information from representatives from the Work Incentives (WIPA), Ticket-to-Work, and Vocational Rehabilitation. Adults with developmental disabilities and parents of children ages 14 and over were encouraged to attend to learn more information about supported employment.
