April 4, 2026
The Split Second Foundation and the Governor’s Advisory Council on Disability Affairs are hosting Disability Awareness Day at the Louisiana State Capitol during the 2026 Regular Session on May 4, 2026 from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
This event gives disability organizations a chance to meet with legislators, council members, and other state leaders. It’s an opportunity to share the important work these groups do across Louisiana.
This year’s program includes a special fireside chat, “From Lived Experience to Lasting Policy,” featuring Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Bruce Greenstein and moderated by Mark Raymond, Jr., Founder and CEO of the Split Second Foundation.
Exhibit tables from organizations that provide services and support to people with disabilities will also be on display.
Join us to raise your voice for policies that empower and support the disability community.
