The Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council (the Council) has a new plan for the 2026 federal fiscal year (FFY 2026) starting October 1, 2025. This plan shows what the Council will do to help improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities in Louisiana.
New LADDC Projects for FFY 2026
The Council will start two new projects:
- Sex Education: Teaching middle and high school students with developmental disabilities about
relationships and sexual health in a safe and easy way. - Women’s Health: Creating simple, easy-to-understand information about taking care of your
body and health for women.
The plan will also keep supporting:
- Partners in Policymaking
- Youth Leadership Forum
- People First
- Navigating the Developmental Disability System
- Behavioral Health and Managed Care Systems
- Training about Abuse and Neglect
- Training for Transitioning to Adulthood
- Advocacy to improve systems
The Council wants to hear your thoughts on this plan. Please email your comments to [email protected] by June 25, 2025. The Council’s Executive Committee will review all comments in July 2025.
