The Split Second Foundation and the Governor’s Advisory Council on Disability Affairs will host Disability Awareness Day on May 4, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The event will take place at the Louisiana State Capitol Museum and Rotunda.
This event brings together disability groups, lawmakers, and other state leaders. It is a chance to share what these groups do and talk about issues that matter to people with disabilities.
This year’s program will include a special talk called “From Lived Experience to Lasting Policy.” It will feature Louisiana Department of Health Secretary Bruce Greenstein. The talk will be led by Mark Raymond, Jr., Founder and CEO of the Split Second Foundation.
There will also be tables set up at the Capitol by organizations (groups) that provide services and support to people with disabilities.
