ThThe Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council (Council) is looking for people and groups to work on projects. These projects will help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) learn important information from the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2027 Action Plan.
These projects will take place during the 2027 budget year (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027).
Projects You Can Apply For
Create and share materials to help families and professionals notice early signs of developmental delays. This can help children get evaluated and connected to services sooner.
Study transportation challenges for people with I/DD across the state. The project will find gaps and suggest ways to improve access.
Develop easy-to-use resources to help people with I/DD and their families prepare for emergencies. This will help keep people safe during disasters.
Create tools and information to help young people with I/DD move from school to adult life. This includes jobs, education, and living on their own.
Develop training for childcare providers on how to support children with developmental delays or disabilities. This helps create more inclusive childcare settings.
Plan job fairs that connect people with I/DD to employers and job resources. This supports finding and keeping jobs in the community.
