New training opportunities are being offered to improve overall awareness and early recognition of co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health diagnoses for persons with disabilities and their families. These training events are provided through a partnership between the Council and Hustle & Grow, LLC.
The Council believes in the importance of educating and increasing understanding of individuals with disabilities and their family members and caregivers by promoting awareness and providing training and support on how to navigate the Developmental Disability (DD), Behavioral Health (BH), and Medicaid/Managed Care Organization (MCO) systems. In Louisiana, these systems and existing programs and services tend to be organized as though individuals have either a Behavioral Health Condition or an I/DD, but not both.
Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to receive FREE valuable information on co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
Hustle & Grow, LLC will be hosting a series of trainings that will promote continuous coordinated care to help with early recognition, self-advocacy and family/caregiver involvement to improve access and quality of healthcare to individuals with co-occurring conditions. The series will include trainings on:
-
-
- How to Identify Co-Occurring I/DD & Mental Health Disorders (in-person)
- Trauma-Informed & Person-Centered Care (in-person)
- Rapid Response: De-Escalation Tactics in Times of Behavioral Health Crisis (webinar) and
- How to Choose the Right Behavioral Health Provider (webinar)
-
The first installment of the trainings is focused on how to identify co-occurring I/DD and mental health disorders. These sessions will be held in-person throughout the state in the northern, central and southern regions and equip you with the knowledge and tools to identify and address these conditions effectively.
As additional trainings are scheduled, this page will be updated with dates, times, and location details.
